Handmade Turkey Box Calls By Darold Brathol

About Me

My name is Dane Brathol, I am Daorld's nephew.  I am 20 years old and have been turkey hunting since I was 13.  I also call for a few friends in the spring and this past spring had one of the most electrifying hunts of my life while using nothing but one of my uncle's calls.  I am more inclined to slate calls and diaphrams normally but this morning I grabbed the box call that Darold gave me.  To make a long story short I called in three toms and a jake to within 30 yards all before 5:30 am.  The bird in my picture is my friends first tom (22 lbs. 9 1/2 inch beard and 1 1/8 spurs) and was the second of the three toms to come in.

if you like slates, you would love the Carter Cutter turkey call. Its a friction that never needs to be sanded. its made out of some type of composite material. i havent found anything else out there like it

Dane, thanks for the photo and the story of Pat's first bird. It sure is fun when the birds come to the call.
